EMDR & Trauma Therapy for Adults in Scottsdale, Arizona
Where self-awareness finally becomes freedom.
You've tried therapy. You've read the books. You know your patterns. So why does nothing actually change?
You’re ready for something different
You’re not someone who shies away from self-reflection. You might have spent years trying to figure yourself out - journaling, podcasts, maybe even a therapist or two. You’ve learned a lot about yourself along the way, but there seems to be a gap between understanding your patterns and actually breaking them.
That gap is exhausting in a way that’s hard to explain to people who haven’t lived it. You’re self-aware enough to see the pattern and know where it comes from, but you’re also self-aware enough to know it’s still plaguing you.
So you’re not looking for another therapist who just validates and nods along. You want someone who will actually go there with you - challenge you, nurture you, and help you get unstuck for real this time.
Hi, I’m Loran, and I’m happy to tell you that you’re in the right place.
I work with people who are self-aware, motivated, and tired of their own patterns. People who have done enough work to have an idea of what’s going on, but haven’t been able to break through it yet. That’s where I come in.
I’m the kind of therapist that keeps it real, authentic, and tends to bring a little humor to the space. I’m committed to being honest with you, encouraging you, and holding you accountable. I like to think of my clients and I as co-pilots. You know yourself better than anyone, and my job is to help you access what’s been inside you all along.
I specialize in EMDR, trauma, and attachment work, which means we’re not just talking about your patterns. We are getting underneath them - healing the original wounds, so you don’t have to keep white-knuckling your way through life. Clients who have tried traditional talk therapy and felt it only scratched the surface tend to find this work lands very differently
To wake up feeling content. Feel genuinely at peace with yourself, who you are, and where your life is headed.
To feel more like yourself. Maybe for the first time in a long time, maybe for the first time ever.
To trust yourself, knowing that your perception of reality isn’t something you have to constantly question.
To have relationships that feel safe, easy, and good. You’re not shrinking yourself, walking on eggshells, or endlessly trying to prove your worth.
To have a choice in how you show up. You’re able to respond to life thoughtfully instead of reacting when the past hijacks the situation.
You know what you want…
…what if this isn’t as far away as it feels right now?
Specializing in…
Often trauma isn’t one single moment - it’s the accumulation of years of feeling unseen, unsafe, or not enough, and it shapes everything without you even realizing it. It leaves you always bracing for something, always waiting for people to leave, always working twice as hard to just feel okay. Trauma therapy can help you get to the root of it, not just manage it.
Complex & Relational Trauma
You end up in the same dynamics, attract the same kind of people, have the same arguments. You think this time will be different, only to find yourself stuck in the same exhausting relationship pattern all over again. Attachment therapy helps you understand how your earliest experiences shaped the way you love and connect - and most importantly, how to do so differently.
Attachment & Relationships
You’re keeping up with everything on the outside, but internally you’re exhausted. Your brain won’t shut off, you’re always anticipating the next thing that could go wrong, and no matter how much you accomplish it never quite feels like enough to relax. Anxiety therapy helps you get underneath the worry to what’s actually driving it, so you can finally get some relief.
High Functioning Anxiety
Finding out someone you trusted wasn’t who you thought they were is its own kind of trauma. It doesn’t just hurt… it shakes the very foundation on which your world exists. Your sense of reality, your ability to trust your own judgment, your vision of the future. Whether you’re trying to rebuild or trying to leave, you don’t have to process this alone. Betrayal trauma therapy gives you a space to fall apart safely - and slowly start to put yourself back together.
Infidelity & Betrayal Trauma
Maybe it started as something that helped you cope - to unwind, to numb, to take the edge off - and somewhere along the way it stopped being a choice and started feeling like a need. Addiction therapy isn’t about willpower or shame. It’s about understanding what you’ve been trying to manage and finding a way through it that actually works. Whether you’re struggling with substances or processes, we can work together to create a life of recovery.
Substance & Process Addictions
Maybe you shut down or get angry instead of talking about what’s actually going on. Maybe you’ve leaned on things that helped for a while but aren’t working for you anymore - overworking, drinking, numbing out. Maybe your relationships keep hitting the same wall and you don’t know how to talk about it without a fight or going quiet. Therapy for men isn’t about talking for the sake of talking. It’s about working in a way that will get you where you want to be.

Online Therapy
Life is full. Between work, relationships, and everything else you’re managing, getting to an office every week isn’t always realistic - and it shouldn’t have to be a barrier to getting valuable and personalized support.
Online therapy with me gives you access to the same quality, depth, and results as in-person work, from wherever you are. Your car, your office, your couch - as long as you have a private space with a reliable internet connection, we can get the work done.
I offer therapy online to clients located anywhere in Arizona or Texas, and all sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform so your privacy is always protected.
Real healing doesn’t require a commute.

Getting started is straightforward. First, schedule a free 20-minute consultation on my calendar so we can connect and make sure we are a good fit for your goals. If we decide to move forward, you’ll fill out some intake paperwork through a secure portal and we’ll get your first session on the calendar. In that first session we’ll do a thorough intake, talk through what’s bringing you in, and start building a clear picture of your goals and strategize a plan for what our work together will look like.
-
The consultation is a free 20-minute call. No commitments and no pressure. It’s a chance for you to share a little bit about what’s been going on, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for how I work. I’ll also walk you through the different services and therapy formats I offer so we can figure out together what might be the best fit for where you are right now. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll talk about next steps.

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the process, and it’s important to find a therapist that feels like the right fit for you. I tend to be warm, direct, a little funny, and I don’t shy away from the hard conversations. I work well with people who appreciate honesty, can handle being gently challenged, and are genuinely ready to do something different. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’ve been around the block a few times, if you’re showing up motivated and open to real change, there’s a good chance we’ll work well together. Doing a 20-minute phone consultation is always the best way to find out.

Individual therapy sessions are $225 per 50-minute session. For EMDR, ART, and other trauma processing work, I recommend extended or intensive sessions. The additional time allows for proper preparation, processing, and grounding so you leave feeling settled rather than activated. Extended sessions are also priced at $225/hour. For example, a 2-hour session is $450 and a 3-hour session is $625.

I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a monthly superbill you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I’d recommend contacting your provider ahead of time to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Yes. I see clients in person at my Scottsdale office, and I also offer online sessions to anyone located in Arizona or Texas. Many clients do a mix of both depending on their week - whatever’s easiest for you is fine with me. All online sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
